The
Garden Island Arts Council (GIAC) - is a non-profit organization
comprised of an all-volunteer board of directors who provide a year-round
program of art, cultural activities and events for the benefit of
residents of and visitors to Kauai.
The
National Tropical Botanical Garden - is dedicated to the conservation
of tropical plant diversity, particularly rare and endangered species.
Medicine, food, shelter - the potential uses of many plant species
are not known. Yet they are becoming extinct at an alarming rate.
Kaua'i
Historical Society - At the Kaua'i Historical Society, we're
bringing history to life. Our mission is to collect, preserve, and
disseminate the oral, written and pictorial history of Kaua'i County;
to protect and preserve historic sites; and to educate ourselves
and the public about the history and cultures of Kaua'i and Ni'ihau.
Koke'e
Natural History Museum - Koke'e Museum provides interpretive
programs and exhibitions about Kaua'i' s ecology, geology and climatology.
Kokee's Museum also provides basic inform ation on trail conditions
in Waimea Canyon and Koke'e State Parks.

| Honolulu
Academy of Art - The Honolulu Academy of Arts is a private, non-profit
institution located in a historic building not far from downtown Honolulu
or Waikiki. With its full schedule of studio art classes, gallery
tours, school programs, family activities, as well as a film and performance
series, the Academy is dynamic and ever-changing--fulfilling the dream
of Anna Rice Cooke and distinguishing itself as Hawaii's premier arts
institution.
Hawaiian
Railway Society - was formed in 1970 to save what remained of
Hawaii's railroad history. This educational, non-profit organization
was able to get the remaining stretch of track on Oahu (from Ewa
to Nanakuli) placed on the State and National Registers of Historic
Sites. We offer two regularly scheduled rides each Sunday.
USS
Arizona Memorial Museum - this is the final resting place for
many of the ship's 1,177 crewmen who lost their lives on December
7, 1941. Visit includes a twenty-minute documentary film and a shuttle
boat ride to the memorial which spans the mid-portion of the sunken
battleship.
The
Contemporary Museum - is the only museum in the state of Hawai'i
devoted exclusively to contemporary art. TCM provides an accessible
forum for provocative, dynamic forms of visual art, offering interaction
with art and artists in a unique Island environment.
'Iolani
Palace - was the official residence of King Kalakaua and his
Queen, Kapi`olani, from 1882 until the King's death in 1891. The
Palace also served as official residence for Kalakaua's sister and
successor, Queen Lili`uokalani, until the Hawaiian monarchy was
overthrown in 1893. This National Historic Landmark is the only
state residence of royalty in the United States.

Maui
Arts & Cultural Center - from hula to symphony, paintings
to taiko drumming, ballet to children's art, slack key guitar to
Chinese acrobats to popular singers, The Center celebrates the richness
of the cultural diversity that converges on Maui, the creativity
that springs from artists of all ages, and the variety of arts disciplines
that keep our stages and galleries exciting.
Hui
No'eau Visual Arts Center - Our mission is to encourage and
promote the development of artistic expression and creativity in
the individual and to stimulate a broader appreciation and understanding
of the visual arts as a vital language in our culture. Hui No'eau's
commitment to excellence in the visual arts is fundamental to all
its endeavors.
Whaler's
village museum - The history-oriented museum brings to life
Lahaina's whaling era (1825-1860) with hundreds of artifacts, photo
murals and interpretive graphics. The story is told through the
eyes of an ordinary sailor or "whale man," and illustrates
the challenges of daily life on the sea.

House Museum / Maui Historical Society - Bailey House Museum
where the kings of Maui used to live, in the house built for teaching
young Hawaiian women, in lovely gardens, here treasures of ancient
Hawaii and the 19th Century are set out for you to see.
Alexander
& Baldwin Sugar Museum - Located next to Hawaii's largest
operating sugar mill, the museum exhibits the history and heritage
of the sugar industry and the multi-ethnic plantation life it engendered.

Tsunami Museum Hilo - Tidal waves are fascinating and often deadly.
Hawaii has had her share of experience with them, and in addition
to scientific information pertaining to these dramatic natural events,
there is recorded first-hand testimony from survivors to be found
here. The museum is a memorial to those who lost their lives in Hawaiian
tsunamis and it hopes to educate people about them in preparation
for future occurrences.
Lyman
House Memorial Museum - take a look at what life in Hawaii was
like during the missionary era by touring the 1839 missionary home
here. Also, browse thru the photo and library archives, which provide
an in-depth history of the establishment of the sugar industry,
Hawaiian royalty, the immigrant experience and much more. There
is also a collection of artifacts of Hawaiian and other major island
ethnic groups.
Kona
Historical Society Museum - The historic Greenwell family store,
a stone and coral mortar building built in 1875 as a general merchandising
store, post office and meeting place, serves as the Museum. Ranching
and coffee farming artifacts, photo exhibits, and a book and gift
shop featuring locally made crafts. On Hwy. 11, one quarter mile
south of Kealakekua. The KHS's historic also offer to participate
in one of walking tours of downtown Kailua-Kona.
Kona
Coffee Living History Farm - run by the Kona Historical Society,
the coffee farm, also known as Uchida Coffee Farm, is a working
farm in the midst of a coffee plantation, and was built by Japanese
immigrants in 1925. Guides are dressed in clothes from the early
20th century, and they show visitors the original farmhouse, the
Japanese (furo) bath house, the coffee processing mill and drying
platforms, and talk of the immigrant farmworker experience.
Thomas
A. Jaggar Museum - at the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, visitors
can see displays of different types of lava, videos of eruptions,
seismographs, and some illustrated Hawaiian legends, especially
those relating to Pele, the goddess of the volcano. The mural art
was done by wonderful local artist Herb Kane.
